An 89-year-old HVAC company gets a modern front door

Rearick’s has kept Northwest Indiana homes comfortable since 1937. Their website had fallen behind that reputation. I rebuilt the homepage around the two things a homeowner with a broken furnace actually needs: a fast way to reach a technician, and a reason to trust this company over the next search result.

Service report

What I found, and what I fixed

I audited the original homepage the way a homeowner uses it: on a phone, in a hurry, with a house getting colder.

Navigation

Too many doors

Found

Seven dropdown menus held 42 links. The Products menu alone had 16, and ten of them opened manufacturer PDFs that pull visitors off the site.

Fixed

Five clear sections (Services, Why Rearick’s, Savings, Service Towns, Reviews) plus a call button and a Schedule Service button that stay in the header.

Booking

No way to ask for help on the page

Found

Every “Schedule Service”, “Request an Estimate” and “Get a Quote” button sent people to a separate page. The homepage itself had no form.

Fixed

A short estimate request form sits right in the hero: service type, name, phone and town. A second Schedule Service form opens from any button without leaving the page.

Trust

The best story was buried

Found

Nearly 90 years in business appeared halfway down the page. Reviews were only an outbound link to Google, with no ratings or quotes shown.

Fixed

“Est. 1937” leads the hero. The star rating, a satisfaction guarantee badge and three named customer reviews from Merrillville, Winfield and Hobart are on the page.

Services

Hard to scan

Found

Service details lived in long keyword-heavy paragraphs, and the heating, AC and duct cleaning blocks and the city list each appeared twice.

Fixed

Three service modules (Heating, Air Conditioning, Duct Cleaning & Air Quality), each with three short bullets and its own scheduling button.

Engagement

Nothing to do but read

Found

The page told visitors that old systems waste money but gave them no way to see what that means for their own home.

Fixed

An Upgrade Savings Estimator. Two sliders for system age and monthly bill show estimated yearly and 10-year savings, then lead straight to a replacement estimate.

Polish

Small errors, real cost

Found

Copy errors such as “installing furnace units… since and know how to do it right” with the year missing, and “Schereville” misspelled in the service list.

Fixed

Rewritten, proofread copy, a consistent type system, and a full footer with address, hours, services and service region in one place.

New features

Built for the homeowner, section by section

Each section of the new homepage answers one question a homeowner has before picking up the phone.

Hero: call, schedule or request in one glance

The brand’s “Don’t just bear an uncomfortable house” line stays, now beside the phone number, the star rating and an estimate form. A visitor can act without scrolling.

Services: three clear paths

Heating, air conditioning and indoor air quality each get a short summary, three specifics and a button to book that exact service.

Savings estimator

Turns “old units are fuel guzzlers” into a number for the visitor’s own home, which makes a replacement quote an easy next step.

The Rearick's promise

Prompt arrival, upfront pricing, vetted technicians and a satisfaction guarantee, plus every town they serve across Lake and Porter counties.

Reviews from neighbors

Real customers from nearby towns, naming the technicians who helped them. Local, specific praise does more than any slogan.
